Anti-slip Shock Absorption Field Hockey Grip Tape

Hockey grip tape is an auxiliary equipment wrapped around the handle of a hockey stick, directly coming into contact with the palm and the stick. Its core function is to optimize the gripping experience, enhance athletic performance, and protect the stick from sweat erosion through its material and structural design.

I.Functions:

1.Anti-slip and stability
Enhanced friction, surface textures provide a stable grip, preventing the stick from slipping out of hand or causing inaccurate shots.
2.Shock absorption
The grip tape can reduce the vibrations generated during the hockey pass process and transmitted to the arm, thereby protecting the health of the arm and wrist.
3.Stick protection
It forms a physical barrier to block sweat, dust, and ultraviolet rays from eroding the wooden handle, extending the lifespan of the stick. The experimental data indicate: The handle of a stick without grip tape is prone to cracking after 3 months, while a stick wrapped with grip tape can be used for much longer than 3 months.

II.Customization:

1.Diverse materials
According to performance classification, there are durable type, water-absorbing type and anti-slip type, which can meet different needs.
2.Thickness and hardness
Thicker models are used for enhance power support, while ultra-thin models are used for net-front interceptions to improve ball-touching sensitivity.
3.Color identification
Team members can better distinguish the hockey sticks of different teams by using different colors grip tape, which can improve their reaction speed.

III. Usage Precautions:

1.Regular replacement
(1)Replacement cycle: After high-intensity training in summer, the grip tape is prone to bacterial growth and hardening. It is recommended to replace it every 1-2 weeks; in winter, the replacement interval can be extended to 3-4 weeks.
(2)Odor warning: If the grip tape emits a pungent or musty odor, it should be replaced immediately to avoid skin allergies or infections.
2.Proper wrapping
(1)Direction and force: Right-handed players wrap from left to right, and vice versa for left-handed players; maintain moderate tension during wrapping to avoid sliding due to looseness or affecting the grip feel due to tightness.
(2)End treatment: Secure the end with sealing tape to prevent loosening; for wide-edge wrapping, double-sided adhesive tape can be applied to the edges for sealing.
3.Storage and maintenance
(1)Environmental requirements: Avoid high temperatures, high humidity, or direct sunlight; storing in a cool, ventilated place is best.
(2)Clean the stick: Before wrapping, clean the dust and old adhesive residue from the handle surface to ensure firm adhesion of the new grip tape.
